Post Title: Father and Son

""The hardest part," says Walt, pausing over a shot of his son clowning around in a family vacation..," (Krakauer 104).

Topic: Family Dynamics
I find it weird how his dad is actually talking about his son because "Chris" or "Alex" would never mention of his family. I can relate to alex/ chris because i also have family issues to where i do not like telling others my situations because i am either too embarrassed or i just do not want to tell them. And usually when my parents talk about me, its more of a negative comment and the only time they talk about something positive of me is when i am seriously injured or physically hurt. And before, i feel like him putting up with his family until he was old enough to leave the parents is what i feel. In a way i feel like i have a lot in common with him because i just want to leave and get away but i dont want to go in the wilderness and end up dead.

"I dont want to know what time it is. I dont want to know what day it is or where i am. None of that matters..." (Krakauer 7).

Topic: Inspiration or fool?
Obviously its clear that he does not want to know the time and day before he enters the wilderness. I feel like he is a fool for not taking the watch in case something happens. I feel like i can relate to Alex because i am stubborn and wont accept anything from anyone unless it is food. And with Alex, when Gallien offered him his lunch he persuaded him to take it. Before he went to the wilderness, Gallien offered him other stuff such as his boots and also gave him advice but he did seemed like all he wanted was to go in the wilderness like he planned. When Gallien gave Alex his number he just tucked it away like it was nothing.

Post Title: Family issues

Quote: "Since they wont ever take me seriously, for a few months after graduation im going to let them think they are right ..." (Krakauer 64).

Topic: The Dynamics of Family
In Chris" situation, i could relate to it because my parents used to be that strict to where i would think of moving out. How i would just obey all their rules and think how they are right when sometimes they are not. I feel like that is how my brother felt too because after he turned 19 he was done with all of my moms shit so he decided to move out without telling anyone so i feel like he relates more to Chris than me. The difference between Chris and my brother is that my brother would tell me his issues but Chris would not. And now I'm in my brothers situation wanting to move out but the only thing that is stopping me is that i am still in high school. The reason why i would just leave is because my parents always think that they are right all the time and every time they yell, it gives me the worst anxiety.

Post Title: Nature> Relationship
Topic:Dynamics Of Family
Quote: " I don't recollect Alex ever talking about any girlfriends" (Krakauer 65).
Based of this quote, it shows that Alex did not have any relation with any girl. I feel like this ties back with his family issues when he was younger when his dad had two separate families and separate kids but was open about it. Due to this, i feel like Alex was close to himself and separated from everyone else. Later on throughout the book, it talked about how Alex would get with a girl while he was drunk. I think that he would use stimulants to not be himself so he would get a girl. Because he did not have any relation with any girls or tried to have any relation with his parents, it led him to not carry a relationship with his co workers but a relationship with nature and the wilderness. And after high school he was not sexually active with any girl but also how he was not interested with and men. Alex never mention having any relation to any girl but also showed no interest to having any relation to any co worker.
